Aspire Community Benefit Society has taken over from Leeds City Council’s Learning Disability Service. Aspire CBS will support people with learning disabilities to have better lives through the provision of high-quality, person-centred care and support services. Service users will still be working with the same people and in the same buildings. The main difference will be that staff who work so hard to provide these services will now own and run the service as part of a staff-led social enterprise.
Aspire have been awarded a 5 year contract to run the service which started on 1st August.
There was an official launch on 6th August at Leeds Town Hall. Entertainment was provided by Dramarama with Grease themed songs and dances. Andy Rawnsley said they will work hard to make Leeds the best city for people with a learning disability to live.
We are looking forward to working with our friends at Aspire CBS.
Better still, we love that they have chosen to use our images on their website!
